Book

What hath Jerusalem to do with... Vienna, or Chicago, or London, or Cambridge (either one), or any of the other centers of the so-called dismal science?
And...Why worry about this side of eternity? Aren't you just trying to baptize greed? Weren't the early Christians socialists? Doesn't economics absurdly claim that the economy can grow forever even though infinite growth is impossible in a closed system?
We're glad you asked these very good questions. Art Carden and myself have written a book that seeks to marry Thomas Sowell's classic Basic Economics to C.S. Lewis' classic Mere Christianity.
If we've been successful, we'll have answered all those questions – and many more.
We wrote the book because we want Christians (and everyone) to take a humanitarian Hippocratic Oath: First, do no harm! The road to hell is paved with good intentions and economic impact studies.
At the same time, we want you to show how much good you do by following the Apostle Paul's instructions to "live quietly, mind your own affairs, and work with your hands." With just the right social context, that sort of ordinary living yields extraordinary results.
Join us as we seek to understand how people expand their options by cooperating. Getting to the bottom of that mundane mystery means rolling up our sleeves, turning the page, and learning mere economics.
